A man wanted in Cleveland County for multiple child sexual abuse charges was caught in Burke County by U.S. Marshals following an officer-involved shooting.

Ricky Dean Clinton, 40, is charged with human trafficking of a child, indecent liberties with a child, first-degree kidnapping, sexual servitude of a minor, deliver controlled substance to a minor and statutory rape, the U.S. Marshals Service said in a wanted poster.
Clinton was injured during a shootout with U.S. Marshals, N.C. State Bureau of Investigation Public Information Director Chad Flowers said.Â
The wanted poster said Clinton was considered armed and dangerous.Â
Clinton was found at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday along Miller Bridge Road in Connelly Springs, U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Task Force Deputy Commander Brian Alfano said.
Flowers said when officers arrived at the Miller Bridge Road location, a person fired a gun at the officers. The officers returned fired striking the person.Â
The person was identified as Clinton. Clinton was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. Clinton was still hospitalized on Wednesday morning, Flowers said.Â
Burke County Sheriff's Office deputies were present, but did not fire their weapons. Flowers said all officers that fired weapons were part of the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Task Force.Â
The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the shooting. Flowers said agents were still at the scene as of 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.Â
Clinton is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.Â
