Egypt: This sweet dog is a love bug. She is about 2 years old and came in with her five puppies. Her puppies have started to become available for adoption, but she needs an amazing home, too. She seems to do well around other animals. She loves to play and would love somewhere to run and relax.

Sun: This older dog is about 5-6 years old and neutered. He is a gentle giant with lots of cuddles and love to give. He is doing good around other animals and would really love a couch to nap on and someone to nap with.

Rhea: This cat is about 2 years old and spayed. She came in with her best friend, Iyo, and now they are looking for their forever homes. Rhea is doing good around other animals and loves anything to do with cuddling or head-butting. She is one gorgeous lady.

Iyo: This sweet cat is also about 2 years old and spayed. Being best friends with Rhea, she loves to cuddle and headbutt as well and is also doing good around other animals. Iyo also loves to be held.

All adoptions include up-to-date vaccines, preventatives, a spay or neuter, and dogs will be heartworm tested.

Animal services is in need of food donations for its community pet food bank, which goes to help pets of those in need. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Burke County Animal Services at 425 Kirksey Drive, Morganton, NC 28655.

Those in need of pet food can stop by Animal Services and fill out a one-time informational form and let them know what you need.
