A fire at a Âé¶¹´«Ã½ rehabilitation center caused about 90 patients to be evacuated and relocated to other facilities on Sunday.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Department of Public Safety and other emergency crews responded to a fire at Grace Heights Rehabilitation Center just before 1 p.m. Sunday. Roughly 90 patients had to be moved to other area facilities.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Department of Public Safety said it was dispatched just before 1 p.m. Sunday to a structure fire at Grace Heights Rehabilitation Center. The department said there was a significant fire inside the building and firefighters were able to perform suppression efforts and extinguish it. There were no injuries to patients or firefighters from the fire, MDPS said.
However, roughly 90 patients at the facility, located at 109 Foothills Drive behind UNC Health Blue Ridge, had to be relocated to other locations, according to a release from Burke County Emergency Management.
Âé¶¹´«Ã½ Public Safety, Burke County Emergency Management, Burke County Emergency Services and the Burke County Fire Marshal’s Office all responded to the scene.
