See pictures of Tuesday's season opening soccer match between Patton and South Caldwell

The Patton boys soccer team defeated South Caldwell 5-0 in the season opener on Tuesday. 

Five different Panthers players, Andreas Garcia, Samuel Quinonez, Aldair Pinto, Trevin Lavoie and Jimmy Monzon, scored goals in the match. The Panthers are a junior and sophomore heavy team this season after last year's 19-5-3 finish. Patton advanced to the 2A West Region semifinals last year where they lost in overtime to Lincolnton. It was the third straight season Patton had advanced to at least the third round of the playoffs.
